ETS NORD's intelligent selection programs support building services design

ETS NORD has rapidly emerged as a major provider of ventilation solutions in the Northern European market. Customer focus, the principle of continuous product development and an understanding and bold adoption of digital opportunities have been the keys to success.

ETS NORD has been using digitalisation and building information modelling for a decade. The aim is to offer customers not only responsibly produced and high-quality products, but also added value through software services that guide the selection and use of ETS NORD products.

Over the last couple of years, ETS NORD has focused in particular on the development of intelligent selection programs. The programs have been developed in close cooperation with MagiCAD. KITCHENiQ, an intelligent selection software for kitchen ventilation design is an advanced BIM solution that allows building services designers to easily design the right commercial kitchen ventilation for their project. The fifth update of the program is already underway, and software development will continue based on customer feedback.

At least two new selection programs are planned to be released during 2022. The KITCHENiQ program is complemented by a selection program for ventilated ceilings, which is more flexible and allows you to design a ventilated ceiling for an entire kitchen. The silencer selection program SILENCERiQ calculates the target sound levels for the ventilation system and helps you select the silencers needed. – The program is being finalised and we will soon start implementing it in MagiCAD,” says Timo Olesk, Product Development Manager at ETS NORD. This is followed by the ROOFiQ selection program, which allows the designer to select the most suitable roof product for the ventilation system by simply entering a few figures into the program.

The extensive investment in product development is also reflected in the number of employees in ETS NORD’s R&D department, which has increased to thirty with the latest recruitments.

– We have a strong understanding of what our customers need through solid customer relationships, but a partner who is skilled in software design and actively involved in the development process is essential. That is why MagiCAD is a very valuable partner for us, Olesk says. – Their experience will continue to help us develop smart design programs that best bring the good features of our products to the attention of designers as well.
