A single ventilation partner makes the contractor’s job easier

Matkus Luuppi, a circular economy center located next to the Matkus shopping center in Kuopio, opened in August 2026. Luuppi is a completely new and innovative ecosystem for recycled goods, enabling materials that were previously recovered as raw materials or energy to be reused more efficiently. Its location next to the shopping center makes recycling more accessible – bringing the circular economy into an environment where people already take care of their everyday errands makes sustainable choices easier and more natural.

ETS NORD supplied Luuppi with an extensive range of ventilation products. In addition to three new Recair air handling units, the comprehensive solution included air curtains, smoke control equipment, air distribution products, exhaust air diffusers, snow shields, fire and control dampers, silencers, and various duct products.

Trust is built through the ability to work together

A comprehensive air handling solution typically consists of several different types of equipment and components. If each of these came from a different supplier, issues such as warranty claims could create unnecessary challenges for the contractor. Simply determining where in the system a problem originates – and consequently who is responsible for resolving it – can become an unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating process.

Jani Nykänen, HVAC Project Manager at Rakennusliike Lapti Oy, the main contractor for Luuppi, explains that the importance of partners capable of providing comprehensive deliveries is particularly evident in large-scale projects. ETS NORD has already demonstrated its ability to schedule deliveries according to the progress of the construction site and to provide its own expert support whenever needed. As schedules and plans often change while a project is underway, the added value of expertise and flexibility becomes even more important.

Deliveries were scheduled according to the progress of the construction site, and everything was carried out within the agreed timelines.

From time to time, situations arose that required discussion and joint problem-solving, but these were handled smoothly. ETS NORD’s experts provided technical support and were responsible for tasks such as commissioning the air curtains, helping to ensure the quality of the result.

Luuppi was completed on schedule. As is often the case with large-scale construction projects, circumstances changed considerably along the way, and all parties occasionally had to be flexible. From the main contractor’s perspective, being able to rely on trusted partners is particularly valuable in such situations. It allows the project to move forward with confidence, without having to worry about delivery times, the accuracy of deliveries, or unexpected issues arising during installation.
