ETS NORD's webshop revamped
07.04.2025
Steadily growing user numbers indicate that the webshop is becoming an increasingly integral part of ETS NORD’s business operations. For this reason, the company is investing in developing its digital services, aiming to make its webshop as user-friendly as possible. The latest example of continuous improvement is the recently completed webshop upgrade project.
“Many people use our webshop daily, but there are also those who visit it much less frequently—some are just trying it out or considering making online purchases,” says Ott Ringo, who led the project at ETS NORD. “We wanted to develop our webshop to offer every user a seamless and pleasant experience.”
ETS NORD conducted research with 20 customers, examining scenarios where progress slowed or decision-making became unnecessarily complicated. This thorough groundwork provided a comprehensive understanding of which features were performing well and which areas needed more clarity, setting a clear direction for development.
The sales team also played a key role in shaping the project. As the team communicates with customers daily, they have a strong sense of the factors influencing purchasing decisions. This input helped make the webshop even more customer-centric.
Small Changes, Big Improvement in User Experience
The webshop’s overall appearance remains unchanged, but many minor updates have been made under the hood. While users might not consciously notice every tweak, they will undoubtedly find the webshop easier to navigate.
“General clarity and the layout have improved, and product information is now more readily accessible. Buttons have their distinct colors, making it easier to make the right choices in many situations,” Ott Ringo explains. “Commands have been simplified; for example, removing items from the cart now requires confirmation, reducing accidental actions.”
Product information is more accessible, and placing orders has been simplified. Since projects are now company-specific rather than individual-based, tracking overall progress is more manageable, especially when multiple sites operate simultaneously. Different individuals can place orders, and the project instantly tabulates all details. User permissions can be defined so that certain team members must approve orders before they are sent.
Ott Ringo highlights that project-specific summaries are also a significant advantage for monitoring EPDs and carbon footprint calculations, which are becoming increasingly important.
“Both our customers and their clients are increasingly interested in the total carbon footprint of a construction or renovation project. Now, our webshop provides product-, order-, and project-specific calculations for the environmental impacts of ETS NORD products. This simplifies tracking and helps to ensure that projects keep their overall carbon footprint as low as possible.”
Direct Integration with Procurement Systems
Companies often use their digital procurement systems in the construction and renovation industries. These systems can complicate online purchases, as order and product data must be manually entered to allow for comprehensive tracking. ETS NORD’s upgraded webshop addresses this challenge for customers.
“We have established seamless integrations between the webshop and the most commonly used procurement systems in the industry,” says Ott Ringo. “This enables us to send orders placed in our webshop directly into the customer’s system, allowing them to fully utilize the features of our revamped store regardless of their procurement platform.”
A Commitment to Ongoing Development
While this upgrade is significant, customer needs continue to evolve. As one of Northern Europe’s largest companies specializing in comprehensive ventilation solutions, ETS NORD is committed to staying at the forefront where designers, renovators, and builders operate. This means continuously improving the customer experience, including in the webshop.
“The number of users is constantly increasing, and their needs are becoming more diverse. We listen carefully to customer feedback and have identified new development areas based on their input. The webshop meets today’s needs well, but from a developer’s perspective, we’re not quite where we want to be yet.”
