Meet Maria – young motor racer talent from Estonia

She is 15 years old, loves motorsport and has been driving motorcycle for 6 years. She was only 9 when she started.

For three years she has been participating in Finnish and Estonian Championships. She is also the first Estonian female athlete who has been on the podium for motorcycling in Finland.

Year 2020 was very successful for Maria. She became the Estonian champion in the MiniGP class. She also came in second place in the Finnish competition during the season. The great honour was that the Estonian Moto Federation recognized her with the title of Female Motorcycle Athlete of the Year.

This year Maria is riding in a whole new Supersport300 class and with a much bigger bike.

ETS NORD sponsored Maria, so that her new bike complies with the international regulations.

Maria’s main goal this year is to get used to the new bike. There is a lot of competition in her new class and others have been racing for years. But Maria is strong-minded and motivated – so kilometres accumulate and lap times are constantly improving.

Maria managed to participate in 3 competitions this year. At the end of July, they were training in Alastaro, where the fourth competition was to take place, but unfortunately, she fell during the training there and broke her wrist. Luckily, the hand has recovered as planned, and now the season can be extended in Southern Europe.
